The Bendigo Football Club is an Australian rules football club based in Bendigo, Victoria, Australia playing in the Victorian Football League.

The club entered the VFL in 1998 as the Bendigo Diggers and then, in 2003 after two successive winless seasons, became the Bendigo Bombers from an alliance with the Essendon Football Club in the Australian Football League which results in Essendon being able to also field some players in the Bendigo team and gaining a supporter base in the large regional city. Essendon re-aligned with the Bendigo Bombers in late 2009 for a further two seasons.

In 2012 the club changed its name to the Bendigo Football Club as this year is their final one with the alliance with Essendon. As part of the transition to a stand-alone club the club has a new nickname, the Bendigo Gold, a new jumper, a new song and a new website - www.bendigofc.com.au.
